tough love

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
-Romans 8:38-39

no matter what happens in this life, God always loves his children. sometimes tough love is applied, this is true. but it is love non the less.

God prepares us for it in some weird ways, and carrys it out in weirder ways at times. but non the less, nothing, no one, now where, no how, can seperate you from the love that is provided by Jesus Christ.

negative w

i know i haven’t been as diligent in writing as i should be. it’s actually a reflection of where i am in my walk with God as well. as i’ve said many time, i’m not perfect. so i ask you all to pray for me right now. i know alot of you do, and i appretiate it. but right now my life is being turned upside down, again. as i’ve pointed out many a times God needs to break some of us to use us. and my guess is that right now i’m being broken again. i know this usually isnt’ much of a blog type area, but i have put prayer requests up before, and i’m doing it again.

i, for one, need prayer for me, that i would remember who is number one in my life and keep my eyes fixed on Him.
my dad, for two, is going to have gastric bypass surgery on july 27th. he’s vastly over weight and thus the surgery has some high risk in it as well.

so that’s for my requests, if anyone has anything they want prayer for, please let me know.

chance - take two

Jonah 3:1 Then the word of the LORD came to Jonah a second time:
Jonah 3:2 “Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.”

these verses come just after God commanded the fish to vomit jonah back onto dry land. there’s two chapters of backstory that you can read whenever you like.

and the moral of the story? if God wants you to do it, you will. the cool part about the moral? God only wants what’s best for you. i’d think that’s something most people would look forward to then. but like jonah, we’re not always so apt to get up and go where God tells us to because it’s scarey. or it’s differnt from what we’re used to doing. could possibly include you losing a loved one, leaving a relationship you covet, or a job that you’ve put before the Lord. might be something as simple as talking to that guy across the room who nobody else talks to, but it’s something that makes you a little uncomfortable. those are the times that make you grow.

unfortunately for jonah, he didn’t quite understand this and pretty much got mad that the people that he was preaching to actually listend. that’s not too far from what alot of us do. we judge based on human standards. jonah essentially looked that ninevites and thought that they didn’t deserve Gods grace. i know that i for one have done that all too many times.

dream a little dream

Jeremiah 31:26 At this I awoke and looked around. My sleep had been pleasant to me.

so, this came at the end of a dream beleive it or not. but i think it’s a good reminder that God does give us dreams, and in those dreams sometimes we see the future and when it’s good we shouldn’t be afraid to admit they were good dreams. God has spoken to many a beleiver and non beleiver while asleep. sometimes he causes the sleep, and other it’s just that you were asleep, and it’s a great time cause you’re not distracted,

over the last couple of days i’ve talked about some of the other parts of this section of scripture. this is something resembling a culmination of those verses. but it doesn’t mean that when the dream is over that God is done with you, or that there’s not more to come. jeremiah has more visions after this one, and many that i’m sure weren’t documented. so don’t settle for just one encounter, pray for more, pray to be in God’s presence always and see where it takes you.

have fun with is, and God bless!

good ol’ dance

Jeremiah 31:13 Then maidens will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

just because you’re going through something that’s pretty hard, doesn’t mean that you’re not going to be dancing eventually. anything that can be done that is good can be done in God. so if you’re in a place of mourning, pray for God’s gladness and dance. and if you’re doing well, pray that you’re living in God’s will. the flip side of those prayers is that God doesn’t have to answer you in your time, it’s in His time. so stick with God. there’s a time for mourning, there really is! and there’s a time for dancing, but not time for both all the time.
