fortunate followers

Jeremiah 17 NIV

Because of our sin, our “fortunes”, both earthly and heavenly, are taken away. That’s the jist of verses 1-3. Verses 7-8 say something like; trust the LORD your GOD and you grow like the mightiest tree with an unlimited water supply. The rest of the chapter, up till verse 18 that is, is more talk to Judah, and how you shouldn’t forsake God cause if you do, instead of being in the book of life, you’ll be writtin in the dust. But verse 14 stuck out to me. it goes as follows:

Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed;
Save me and I will be saved,
For you are the one I praise.

So basicly, don’t foresake God, in all reality, he’s never changed, nor will he. So, God bless you all and I hope to have enough time to continue these scriptures this school year!

Philippians 4:4 NIV

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

Another one of those little verses that mean so much. I’ve had some prayers answered, my friends have had prayers answered, so I wanted everyone to know that God does answer prayer. Also, to keep rejoicing in God always, cause then more of you prayers will get answered and so on.

no other God

Jeremiah 16 NIV

This is a powerful chapter. The begining of the chapter starts of with condemnation of people for putting other gods before the one and true god. This continues (like it always does in Jeremiah) for the remander of the chapter. But for me, the part that really hit home was verse 20. God states:

Do men make their own gods?
Yes, but they are not gods!
(Jeremiah 16:20 NIV)

in my mind it should be something like:

You idiots make your own gods. These little stone and wooden things that YOU! have created and you think that they can bring what you want and WHAT I COULD DO EASIER THAN YOU CAN BREATH! How stupid are you people? Don’t answer I already know. These things you create ARE NOT GODS!!!!

So ya. That’s how i think it really is. But verse 21 tells us that God then re-taught these people His power and might. So that shows us that we all have a chance to be redeemed, and forgivin.

arrogance killed the…

Jeremiah 13:15-27 NIV

The Trend continues…….

Well, 15-17 can be sumed up into: pay attention to the Lord, and don’t be arrogant, Give The Lord The Glory He desirves, or he’ll bring you an ever darkness so black you can’t see. The rest of the Chapter is basiclt the same with the exception of verse 23. Verse 23 states “Can the Cushite changes his skin or the leopard his spots? Neither can you do good, who are accustomed to doing evil.” 24-27 go back to “because” you have ditched me and become wicked AND won’t listen to my prophets, I will bring the darkness darkness. God will bring bring the darkness, not me or Jeremiah.

Explination: Don’t be arrogant and give God what he desirves.
